Faith Community Nursing is a specialized practice recognized by the American Nursing Association of professional nursing that focuses on intentional care of the spirit, as well as the promotion of whole-person health and the prevention or minimization of illness within the contect of a faith community (Faith Community Nursing Scope and Standard of Practice, 3rd Edition).  Faith community nurses are licensed, registered nurses who practice wholistic health for self, individuals, and community using nursing knowledge combined with spiritual care.  They function in paid and unpaid positions as members of a team.  The focus of their work is on the intentional care of the spirit, assisting and leading organizations to maintain or gain wholeness in body, mind, and spirit.  Contact lead faculty Sue Ann Glusenkamp at This email address is being protected from spambots.
