Registered nurses of all faith backgrounds are invited to participate in the Foundations of Faith Community Nursing Training Course. Faith Community Nurses help bridge the connection between faith communities and healthcare by serving as health educators, counselors, and advocates. Their work often includes supporting homebound individuals and visiting members in nursing homes or hospitals.
Through this nondenominational program, participating nurses receive continuing education hours along with the resources and guidance needed to establish or strengthen a Faith Community Nursing program within their own faith community.
Established in 1997 by Carle Health, the program has trained more than 600 nurses, many of whom have found deep fulfillment in serving their congregations through this unique blend of faith and nursing practice.
