Their work often includes supporting homebound individuals and visiting members in nursing homes or hospitals.
Through this nondenominational program, participating nurses receive continuing education hours along with the resources and guidance needed to establish or strengthen a Faith Community Nursing program within their own faith community.

Faith Community Nursing imparts close attention to an individual’s spirit, where
praying and addressing spiritual needs are also supported. Individuals, groups, and the surrounding community come to this ministry, at times, feeling hopeless and helpless. The RN who accepts the call is caring, compassionate, and a servant-leader with a strong sense of faith and hope. In return, they receive “…the most rewarding job that God has given me. I feel… like I’m fulfilling my purpose, and the reason I became a nurse.” (MF-2016)
