Sondra Weinzierl Discussion started by Sondra Weinzierl 1 month ago
Do you have teaching tips you'd like to share?  Our Educators' Group has requested that we all share ideas, techniques and problem-solving with each other.  Here's a tip I've found to be helpful.
Prepare a clear, concise syllabus ahead of the course that includes all assignments.  This has saved on communication time with students and gives them one document they can refer to throughout the course.  I've found students are much more likely to complete their reading assignments when they have the syllabus. If I've added case studies for class discussion, I include those in the syllabus.  Then, when we go into breakout rooms, students can refer to the case studies so they have the details for their discussion.
