According to practice act, these...Hello Sue Ellen, within my church, I have retired RNs who have not taken the FCN course nor renewed their license. According to practice act, these individuals cannot work as an RN. That can’t perform a nursing assessment, diagnosis nor plan action or educate as an RN. So, I have them take the Congregational Health Promoter training we had under Church Health. This is not as robust a training as FCN, but it allows them to use some of their skills, under the supervision of the FCN, knowing the limitations of this new position. It is a difficult transition because “once a nurse, always a nurse”, is so true. But if not followed, can lead to problems if anything should come up. Show more2 years ago
