Foundations of Faith Community Nursing

This Foundations of Faith Community Nursing course, developed through the Westberg Institute for Faith Community Nursing in consultation with the National League for Nursing (NLN) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), explores this specialty practice which combines professional nursing with health ministry.
Developed from the Judeo-Christian perspective, this curriculum is respectful of, and can be applied to, other faith traditions by exploring their differences and similarities.
In the context of their faith tradition, areas of discovery include:
• Practice history and philosophy
• Ethical issues
• Healing and whole person health
• Loss, suffering, grief, and more...
Licensed RN participants will utilize the nursing process as it applies to the leadership role of an FCN, preparing them to initiate and maintain this health ministry within, and to, the larger
surrounding community.
